Duplicate and Copyright
This same image is hosted on wikicommons as Public domain. here I dont know which is correct , yet I suspect that since it was first "published " in 1931 it should be PD world wide. Am I Correct?
- It is currently listed for deletion on the Commons. I fear its copyright is life of author + 70 years, i.e. PD in 2059. See the comments on Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags. The Moma Website bizzarely asserts that this image is "© 2006 Salvador Dalí, Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation/Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York". Moma permissions page is pretty unhelpful. The fact that they allow it to be sent as a free e-card would seem to limit their scope for claiming damages in any dispute. William Avery 21:33, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Use in article Sedimentology
"(This wonderful piece of art actually has nothing to do with Geology.)" is presumably a Surrealist fair-use rationale. William Avery 21:33, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- "Surealism is not the same as sedimentology. If you object please explain why." I don't object to the statement as a fact, but I question its placement here, and have deleted it from the main article. RobertAustin 02:06, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Dali is an example of one surrealism painter.
