As a result of a family debate - I've been searching the internet for hours trying to find out when the new bridge was constructed in North Battlefords. I am suprised there is not more coverage of the bridges in the wikipedia article - given that the bridges are very memorable.

I'm going to stop in North Battleford and try to gather facts .. but its christmas. Maybe they should be put into a separate bridge article ... Essentially,

Old Bridge:-When was it erected? (I think 1908ish)-Two lane or one lane?-When did it turn into a pedestrian only bridge.

Dec 30 - received the following email from the Battlefords Tourism department:

The Bridge was built in the 1980'sand the old bridge was closed at the same time the new one was opened. Thereason the older iron bridge was closed is because it is unsafe for trafficto cross, although traffic does cross the first span of the bridge toFinlayson Island, the second part of the bridge is closed to all but foottraffic.
