Contested deletion

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... those are products of a defunct company - how can this be advertising? --Ottawahitech (talk) 14:38, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Naming conventions

To increase usability, I suggest removing the redundant "Nortel" from each line item. I also suggest standardizing the way items are listed - it should be either specific items or product families, but not both. We should not have "Communication Server 2100" followed immediately by "Communication Servers". Thoughts? VQuakr (talk) 04:46, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

  • @VQuakr, thanks for the suggestions. I wonder if anyone else other than the two of us is paying attention? Ottawahitech (talk) 14:23, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Agreed that "Nortel" is not part of the literal product name, so in a list of Nortel products, it does not need to be included. Also agreed that if a product family line is listed, there is no need to list any specific products in that family. isaacl (talk) 14:45, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

I removed the redlinks from the list (keeping each line item). Per WP:REDLINK, the purpose of redlinks is to indicate a missing article - it is a cue for creation. Since these line items represented articles that have been deleted at AfD, it was not appropriate to imply that articles for those products should be re-created.
