Why does this article exist?

The content of this event is identical to our Barcelona Open (tennis) article. Is it not merged for some particular reason, or is it that it was originally for the ladies only and someone changed it to the dual event? I'll change it back to the women's event which was often called the Spanish Open and Spanish Championships (at least in English). Perhaps this should be labeled "WTA Spanish Open" instead of using the (tennis) disambiguation? Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:56, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
