Start date or date?
Noticed this at 1257 Samalas eruption where Volcanoguy added a "start date" parameter. I don't think it's appropriate to have such a parameter unless we know quite exactly when the eruption lasted; in most cases such as at Samalas we only know when an eruption took place and calling that "start date" is nonsensical. - @Jo-Jo Eumerus: Good point; I have readded the date parameter for that reason. In most cases only historically recorded eruptions have articles on Wikipedia so I didn't think it would have been a big issue. Volcanoguy 21:49, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
