Infobox

Infobox motorsport championship
CategorySingle seaters
CountryEurope
Inaugural season2003
Drivers31 (2006)
Teams14 (2006)
Constructors1
Engine suppliers2
Drivers' champion Paul di Resta
Teams' champion ASM Formule 3

This an example of how this infobox should look. The title is automatically derived from the page title. The "engines" field is normally only applicable in single-seater championships, as most production-influenced series use engines that correspond to the chassis manufacturers. The value for the first season forms a link to that year's motor racing category, eg: Category:2003 in motor racing.

Spelling Question

Would it be possible to amend the infobox for artiles where "Tire" is the preferred spelling?Mustang6172 (talk) 03:29, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

BTCC

Could extra detail be added for BTCC so that Independents Drivers Trophy and Independents Teams Trophy is insertable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mharris99 (talkcontribs) 19:52, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Removing links to categories

The "inaugural" (instead "inaugural2" has to be used) and "folded" won't let you link to the specific edition of the championship. It links to a category year in motorsport since the infobox creation in 2007. As a common practice in infoboxes, no such restriction to link articles exists. Does anybody oppose removing the links to categories? A new parameter "folded2" could be added that allows linking articles, but I think it'd make more sense to remove the categories completely. Also pinging the template expert @Primefac for opinion and possible replacement of "inaugural2"->"inaugural" by bot. Motorsport WikiProject has been notified. I support removing the links to categories. DH85868993 (talk) 11:38, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Adding the year to the "Current season" link text

When visually scanning the page for the current year (2024 right now), the "Current season" link doesn't pop up. I suggest adding ({{CURRENTYEAR}}) to make it immediately visible. It would then be "Current season (2024)". The RedBurn (ϕ) 07:24, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

The link appears on every page I've checked where the parameter is in use... I'm not sure the issue here. Primefac (talk) 12:44, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
It currently shows up as "Current season". I suggest adding the year to make it show up as "Current season (2024)". The RedBurn (ϕ) 19:38, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
It seems redundant, since this year is 2024. Also, there are seasons that split years (e.g. "2023-24") which means we cannot necessarily use a magic word to place it. Primefac (talk) 19:39, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
