Title incorrect
Many of these practices are not only performed by lay people. I therefore propose to remove the word lay from the title.--Farang Rak Tham (talk) 20:21, 18 November 2017 (UTC)

Template:LayBuddhistPractices → Template:Buddhist devotional practices – Modern scholarship has it that devotion and faith-based Buddhist practices are not only practiced by lay people, but also by monastics. The name LayBuddhistPractices is based on the theory—and the common misunderstanding—that Buddhism consists of kammatic Buddhism practiced by lay people as opposed to Nibbanic Buddhism practiced by monastics. This was proposed by Spiro,[1] but has now been debunked by several scholars, stating the differences are not that clear-cut, and furthermore, teachings on karma and Nirvana are closely connected in many ways.[2][3][4] Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 22:05, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
