Hello Deathlaser! I see that you've put yourself up for adoption – great idea! I'll be happy to adopt you because I enjoy working with others – especially to help them become a better editor on Wikipedia!
Take a look at my edit history; I usually work at Articles for Deletion, Articles for Creation, in new page patrolling, and in vandalism-fighting. I have been an editor on Wikipedia for a year, and have made over 15,000 edits to the encyclopedia.
I'm usually available on Wikipedia from 0:00 - 5:00 and occasionally from 12:00-16:00 (all times UTC). I travel frequently, usually on business trips around the world. I'm so young, yet so busy.
If I adopt you, I promise I will provide you with the most friendly, easy, and convenient adoption service through my adoption school. But if you don't think I am the right adopter for you, that's okay – you have no obligation to accept, and I won't be in the least bit offended if you don't. If you think I am the right adopter for you, please let me know – then we shall get started! Bmusician 01:21, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
In response to your message at my talk page: No offense taken. However, the only smiley face I can see that I've left recently is the one in the link to my talk page in my signature, and I would rather not get rid of it, personally. Sometimes I use smiley faces as part of the way I communicate online - if that bothers you then I apologise. I like having it there though. I would advise you against telling other people how to communicate, unless they are communicating uncivilly. There's a huge mix of people at Wikipedia, and some of them speak informally even in the most serious of discussions. We just have to muddle along. Regards, OohBunnies! Welcome!
You are now a student at my adoption school. Your official adoption page is located at User:Bmusician/Adoption/Deathlaser.
In your first assignment (which I have already assigned to you) you will learn about the five pillars. Read the lesson carefully. You are required to answer three questions about the lesson at the very end. You must answer two of them correctly in order to move on to the next assignment.
After you've completed all required assignments, you will then take an examination. If you pass the examination, you are permitted to either continue to study at the adoption school, or "graduate" from the school. (We'll talk about that when that time actually comes.) If you fail, however, you must stay at the adoption school until you finally pass an exam. Please note that you may leave the school at any time without graduating, but that means that you won't be awarded the "special barnstar" I give to my graduate students.
That's it; again I welcome you to my adoption school! Please me a message on my talk page if you have any questions regarding the school. Bmusician 00:26, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Australian Green Tree Frog: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. This edit Shearonink (talk) 15:09, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, County convention. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - County (United States)#Broad_scope. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at County (United States)#Broad_scope - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

Hi, Deathlaser, i've declined your speedy deletion request on the above article under db-context (A1) because it has enough context to identify the school as a subject of the article. Also, I note that you tagged the article for speedy deletion less than a minute after its creation. it may be a good idea to give editors a chance to add more information or references to articles before you tag them. No every editor has broadband, not every editor is an expert at Wikipedia. Give 'em a chance and they might repay it. I've prodded the article as an unreferenced essay and original research instead. Thanks, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 18:25, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Deathlaser, I've seen your concerns elsewhere on Wikipedia and I just want to reassure you that you haven't had a particularly bad start. You've done plenty of good things such as taking part in the wikification drive above, completed Bmusician's adoption school and been part of some anti-vandalism efforts (such that you are trusted with rollback). It is just your content contributions that could do with some work. The pages you created were all deleted under the importance criteria. My suggestion is that instead of creating new articles, you have a go at expanding articles instead; try to improve an article about something you like so that it meets the B-class criteria (at least). This will help you get a feel for some of the policies around content so that if you do decide to recreate those deleted articles you can ensure that they are at a high enough quality to be kept. If you need any help then you can always ask me, or any of the many other people you've interacted with over the past month. Good luck.--Mrmatiko (talk) 15:34, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your recent application to use the counter-vandalism tool.VandalSniper. Deathlaser, I know you're a new user and most earnestly want to help out on the project. I also perceive that you would like to be an administrator, but realize that in light of your self-described "bad start," it is unlikely you would pass RFA for the foreseeable future. However, you believe that if some position with a lower threshold for approval were created, you could obtain that position and the resulting community approval you perceive as coming with adminship. Ignoring for a moment the assumption that adminship equals community respect, these sorts of proposals have been floated by dozens of users in similar positions as yourself over the years. We know you want to help, we know you want userrights, but we can't compromise the stability of the project to do that. If anything, proposals such as the "blockers" proposal will only hurt your odds of obtaining userrights as people will doubt your judgment and maturity. Please reconsider your continued efforts in that area. MBisanz talk 16:39, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Your contributions, especially the anti-vandalism ones, have been appreciated. If decide that you want to return at some point, or if you just can't stay away , I have a few suggestions that you may find helpful for reducing your stress levels.
The first is to stick with something that you enjoy; I see that you originally came here because you wanted to help fight vandalism, maybe spending most of your on-Wikipedia time doing recent change patrolling would help reduce your stress levels. (Sounds a bit counterproductive to me, but you might enjoy it)
My second suggestion is to slow down; your biggest cause of wikistress is likely to come from rushing to experience everything. I know how fun it is to try lots of new and interesting things, but there really is no rush; I've been actively editing for just over a year now and I'm still finding different things to do. The key to getting the most out of Wikipedia is to take your time with new things and to savour the experience.
The final thing is to learn how to handle criticism; I get the impression that you take criticism too personally. Being able to use constructive criticism and discard useless insults is an important skill that would serve you well. If someone points out a mistake you have made, then take their suggestions and remember them; there is no need to keep apologising to people, just a quick "thanks for letting me know" is all that is required.
I appreciate this is quite long so to summarise: Only do things you enjoy, relax (there's no rush) and don't let criticism get you down.
Hopefully we'll see you back here when you feel able to contribute again. --Mrmatiko (talk) 17:52, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, Deathlaser. I'm afraid I have had to remove the autopatroller right from your account. Many of your recently created articles have faults with references, links or grammar/spelling, which a few users have noticed. I probably shouldn't have granted the right in the first place - I apologise for the inconvenience this will cause. I'd encourage you to continue your content creation work, and try to look at some of the issues that have been picked up. If you have any questions, please let me know. I have noticed a large number of wikification errors that you have made and listed them at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wikify/Drives/2012/June. I apologize if I seem a bit insensitive, but I had a large number of articles to look through and I was short on time when I began. Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:25, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Why did you have to place Retired template again?..Please reply.. ƬheⱾtrikeҾagle ™ 13:14, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
Did not go so well.--Deathlaser : Chat 18:15, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Hey there. I wanted to talk to you about your cleanstart. As a cleanstart account myself, I figured I'd give you some pointers.
First, take some time off between retiring from the old account and creating the new one. I recommend six months. I took well over half a year off, although I know people who have waited only three months or so, so really, it's up to you. The reason that this is suggested is that it a) allows you to cool off from any disputes, and b) you don't get caught immediately in the cleanstart.
Second, don't work in the new account in the same place you worked before you retired. This prevents all sorts of ethical issues, and again, it prevents you from getting caught immediately.
Third, once you do come back, shoot an email off to ArbCom. This protects you from being called a sockpuppet if people link the accounts later. You might also consider telling Tiptoey and MuZemike, the two most active CUs, again by email. They're both trustworthy.
If you don't think you can do any of those three things, a cleanstart might not be for you. Consider the virtues of apologizing for whatever you've done wrong and working on improving. Most of us are pretty forgiving, and apologizes (genuine, unforced ones) are so rare that they're still cherished around here.
Cheers, and good luck, Sven Manguard Wha? 18:30, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Hey all :)
Just a quick update on what we've been working on:
Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:56, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Names of genera need to be italicized. That is true whether you are using them as part of the binomial or just mentioning them in the text. Please make sure you fix any in your articles, such as Neocurtimorda distrigosa. LadyofShalott 23:27, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Please see my changes to Variimorda truncatopyga and incorporate them into your other articles. LadyofShalott 14:10, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
I've got a little task for you! Basically, look for a subject of article that you really like. Then, look for an article with roughly that content, so there are no duplicates. If there isn't one, make it! If there is, look again. :) The biggest task though is that I want you to get it up to the Good Article standard. I recommend 10,000 characters. Just a thought, as always. Regards, Thine Antique Pen (talk • contributions) 14:36, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
I've done a darn good copyedit to it. Also, I'd suggest 7000 characters at the least. It currently is around 200 chars. --Thine Antique Pen (talk • contributions) 17:50, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
By the way, there is no need for talkback templates on my talk page. I was at a Diamond Jubilee celebration, but I often read my entire watchlist. Regards, Thine Antique Pen (talk • contributions) 17:52, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
Hello Deathlaser! The esteemed LadyofShalott has suggested that I share a discussion thread with you concerning Joel Hallan’s Biology Catalog. Cheers! Kaldari (talk) 21:04, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

You are creating articles about species and calling them tribes! LadyofShalott 18:22, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Please see Talk:Copelatus ternatensis. Please, Deathlaser, these are short stubs you are making: get the facts straight in them. LadyofShalott 17:39, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
The last one is okay, but I would want all of the previous ones to be updated. Regards, Thine Antique Pen (talk • contributions) 18:13, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
On WP:PERM/F, you should not have blanked your request, so I have reverted it. The request will be archived by a certain bot. Regards, Thine Antique Pen (talk • contributions) 18:50, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Regarding your recent edits to the lead section of rock (geology), please read WP:RS and WP:Lead carefully. This and this are websites for elementary age school kids, and although quite good for their intended audience, hardly work as references here. Also, please preview your edits prior to saving as other editors shouldn't have to fix simple capitalization, spacing, and punctuation errors. Vsmith (talk) 21:56, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
In addition, three of the references you added (to the mining section) were either WP:copyvios or more likely the websites you cited were simply copying content from the WP mining article and as such fail WP:RS. I've removed those. The fourth ref you added for the mining section simply leads to an intro page with no content. Vsmith (talk) 23:00, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
