Prime Meenister of Iraq
The Prime Meenister of Iraq is Iraq's heid o govrement. The Prime Meenister wis oreeginally an appynted office, subsidiary tae the heid o state, an the nominal heid o the Iraqi parliament. Unner the newly adoptit constitution the Prime Meenister is tae be the kentra's active executive authority. Nouri al-Maliki (formerly Jawad al-Maliki) wis selected tae be Prime Meenister on 21 Apryle 2006.[1][2] On 14 August 2014 al-Maliki agreed tae step doun as prime meenister o Iraq tae allou Haider al-Abadi tae tak his place.[3]
