Zelenokumsk

Zelenokumsk (Roushie: Зеленоку́мск) is a toun an the admeenistrative centre o Sovetsky Destrict o Stavropol Krai, Roushie, locatit on the Kuma River. Population: 35,839 (2010 Census);^[1] 40,340 (2002 Census);^[2] 35,140 (1989 Census).^[3]

History

It wis foondit in 1762 as the selo o Vorontsovo-Alexandrovskoye (Воронцово-Александровское). It wis grantit wirk settlement status in 1963 an renamit Sovetskoye. Toun status wis grantit tae it in 1965 when it wis renamit Zelenokumsk.
