Sushil Koirala
Former Prime Minister of Nepal (1939-2016)
Sushil Koirala (Nepali: सुशील कोइराला; 12 August 1939 – 9 February 2016) was a Nepalese politician. He was the Prime Minister of Nepal from 11 February 2014 to 10 October 2015. He was also President of the Nepali Congress party beginning in 2010.

Koirala was elected as Prime Minister of Nepal by the parliament on 10 February 2014.[1][2] Koirala joined the Nepali Congress in 1952 and served in various roles before becoming its president in 2010.[3]
Koirala was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2006 and lung cancer in July 2014.[4] He died on 9 February 2016 of pneumonia in Kathmandu. He was aged 76.[5]
