Plot

Los Gatitos, Mexico

Marriage Counseling with Father Miguel

Travis and Abby argue in front of Father Miguel to the point where a nun shouts from a window. Father Miguel asks them to start from the beginning with how they fell in love. Travis explains it started at The Circle, an underground fight club that he's a pretty big deal at. This makes Abby laugh over his ego. From the moment Travis saw Abby he couldn't take his eyes off her, which was a problem because he was in a fight. He caught her InstaStalking him which was creepy if it wasn't adorable. Abby denies it at first but then admits it's true because he was all she could think about. They went on a romantic date and that's when Travis knew she was the one. She thought he was a player. They continue to recap their love story up until they found the stolen money. Father Miguel asks when Happily Ever After started, presuming it was their wedding night. Neither Travis or Abby can remember that night. They start six days ago when they first woke up.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Six days ago

Travis wakes up in bed with who he thinks is Pigeon - it's actually a very drunk Shep who thought he was with Mare. Abby wakes up on the floor and no one knows what happened last night. They find their hotel room full of money that isn't entirely Benny's. A slideshow of their night plays on the TV. Abby sees herself getting a tattoo and checks her hip, where a new tattoo is. The next slide is Travis and Abby getting married at a chapel by an Elvis impersonator. Mare finds a marriage certificate on the table. Abby freaks out and Travis gets on his knee because he does love her. He wishes his family was here to see her. She pukes on his face mid-speech.

Travis wipes off his face as Shep commends his speech. Travis answers the phone which is Benny pretending to be the front desk. He wants his $150,000 back. Abby snatches the phone to yell at Benny. He wants to see them in his office in an hour. There's a pounding on the door and what they think is someone with a gun. Travis and Shep ambush the guy and start waterboarding him through the safe. Turns out, the person was just a concierge.

They go to an airstrip to meet Jerry, but find Chief Warrant Officer Delroy Murphy, aka Buzz, instead. He'll be flying them down to Mexico in Lady Hawk. He can get them there without passports and questions for 10 grand. Travis doesn't like it, but Abby accepts without asking him. Mare is ready to go home but the hotel van speeds off. She boards the plane very unhappily.

Shep enjoys the wireless headset and gets slapped in the hand by Buzz. Mare isn't loving the whole Vegas gangster thing anymore and, since no one has drugs or alcohol, she needs Shep to send her into a dopamine coma. Travis and Abby sarcastically talk about this being fun. Travis counts the remaining money which is $138,798. Abby is on the computer to text Sancho, a concierge at a luxury villa in Los Gatito, Mexico she just booked them in. Travis worries it's out of their price range but she knows they have $138,000. Plus, it's her honeymoon. He caves without argument and remarks happy wife, happy life. She knows he's freaking out about this too, as he's stuck with her forever. He has reservations like her being beautiful, smart, and making them a fortune in under an hour.

During the flight, Abby finds articles about disastrous marriages that ended in murder. After a while, the plane prepares for landing so the group looks out the door. Buzz gives Abby his card which is good for hostage situations too. She pays him and the group heads to the villa. Sancho gives them a musical welcome than ushers Travis away. Abby watches a shirtless employee until Travis comes to get her. Sancho shows them the villa, but all Travis wants is ESPN. Sancho says they have it, but Travis isn't convinced. Sancho shows America and Shepley to the room while Travis and Abby walk the hall. He calls her Mrs. Maddox, but she's not sure she's taking his name because she likes hers. She suggests he take her last name, something he compares to castration. He stops her from crossing the threshold so he can carry her over it.

The bed has their initials on it with petals so she takes a few photos and instructs him to takes photos of her. He obliges and then rips the cover off so they can have sex. They are interrupted by a mariachi band. Travis pulls the curtains shut. She plays music from her phone instead so they can try again. Neither one of them brought condoms. He suggests not using one since they're married, but she's too young to be married let alone have a baby. She suggests doing other things instead. That doesn't work so they decide to have sex anyway. She throws him off her and sends him to get condoms from Shepley. He's ambushed by little kids and the band. Shep emerges looking for a condom too.

That night, Travis and Abby get dressed up for a romantic dinner. A talkative Sancho gets them settled. Once alone, Travis and Abby toast to their happily ever after. She gives him a list she made while he was sleeping. It's a pro-con list to see if they should stayed married or get a quick annulment. It's decorated because she hoped he would like it more if it was pretty. He compares it to getting cancer news framed. Sancho interrupts with the first course. Travis agrees to the pro-con list if she can get Sancho to stop talking. Abby talks about her childhood and dead grandmother, but he's distracted by the sports score. He claims to not feel well but promises to be back. He runs to Shep for the score. Turns out, Travis has a $1,000 on the game. He runs back to Abby and downs the soup in one slurp. Sancho reminds Travis this is the first course. Travis wants all six at the same time. Abby asks if he's okay and he asks about her dad. When he realizes what he said, he runs off again, claiming not to feel well again. He checks in with Shep and watches the game on the laptop. Sancho brings the next course and they hear the boys shouting from inside the villa. She walks in on them celebrating. She remarks that he's lost a lot of points for the ordeal.

In the morning, Abby finds Travis as the newest member of a mariachi band performing outside her room. They play in the ocean, have dinners, go on a boat, learn to salsa by Sancho, go parachuting, then go swimming (and make out) in the pool. Their next rained in by a storm. The group plays a version of Twister that ends with Shep and Mare in a tie. Mare and Sancho sing Karaoke. Shep tries charades and Mare guesses correctly. Abby does a round and Mare guesses right. Travis didn't know American in Paris was her favorite movie or that she planned to live there. He's asks how he'll pursue criminal justice living in Paris. She doesn't know that, but also didn't know they'd get married after three months. Mare changes the game to Never Have I Ever. Abby gets upset and goes for a walk.

Travis finds Abby in the pool and tries to talk with her. She thinks they barely know each other despite being married. He doesn't think they'll survive an annulment. If she's worried about Paris then he'll move there. They'll never have a dull moment. She passes on pool sex until he can wear a raincoat.

In the morning, Travis wakes up without Abby and finds her outside with Miguel who is juggling fruit. He savagely eats grapes and lets his towel fall. Miguel hurries off to work.

Shep, Mare, and Abby have breakfast together. Travis arrives late and eats a seat away from her. They exchange sharp words.

Mare follows Abby through the jungle and asks her what happened that morning. Abby saw a guy juggling and always wanted to know how. Mare runs off mid-sentence. Travis walks to Abby and asks if her new friend is joining them. Shep runs up looking for Mare. Travis knows he can be possessive but he doesn't like when other guys touch her. She tells him to get over it as she might have a male OBGYN one day. He brings up the diversity movement and accuses her of not being progressive. She runs off looking for Mare and encounters two Mexican women who don't speak English. Travis translates and the women remove their tops. They flirt with Travis and Blanca starts touching him. Abby storms off so Travis follows her. He points out the topless beach as a reason for his behavior. She takes off her top which freaks him out. He yells at a caricature artist so Abby shoves him down and tells him to leave her alone. Travis enters a cartoon where all the boys on the beach and after Abby. The make crude remarks so Travis fights them. The security guard calls for backup. Abby finds him and they fight together. Security arrives to arrest them, placing them in outdoor cages.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Benny is with his boyfriend, Darius, by the pool. He answers a phone call and complains about the woke shit ruining his strip club. A man brings another phone to show him Abby and Travis's mug shots. Benny recognizes it as being the place he and Darius fell in love. He decides to fly down there himself. Darius gets in a car and drives off which angers Benny.

Los Gatitos, Mexico

Down in Mexico, Sancho tried to post Trabby's bail but they don't have passports, so they'll have to wait. They return to the villa that night while Travis and Abby argue about her being topless. She gets out of the car and runs off. Travis wants to follow her, but Sancho stops him with a promise that Miguel will look out for her. She ends up in an alley with a group of drunk men. Miguel intervenes and scares the men off. She thanks him and wants a drink.

Travis storms into the villa while leaving an angry voicemail for Abby. Mare is on the couch and confronts him for the language he uses with Abby. She thinks he's an asshole and that getting married at 19 is stupid. But she's worried about her best friend who loves him but is being suffocated by him. Abby has a habit of running and Mare doesn't want that to happen to either of them.

Abby and Miguel walk the street with a beer. He knows almost everyone and she pries for his backstory. His parents were wealthy and owned the villa she's staying in. His dad was killed and the government took the home. He was angry until he got the calling for church. He's a Priest in training. She believes but doesn't practice. He wrestles her to the church while teasing that Jesus has another.

Mare and Travis sit by the pool and realize they've only ever talked about laundry soap before. They wouldn't have picked each other to be in their lives but they are. Mare's known Abby a long time and shows him pictures of them together. Abby did a lot of great things but her parents never showed up. Mare reminds him that Abby isn't his problem to solve. Their conversation is interrupted when Shep drops from the second floor to the ground. He lies about not spying on them by trying to make up stories. Mare storms off angrily.

Miguel walks Abby back to the villa while encouraging her to see the marriage through. He offers to talk with her and Travis if they need it. She joins Travis by the pool and he apologizes for being a dick. She appreciates it and admits to having a problem of running away. She thinks they need a break. Their relationship has been a pressure cooker so they haven't blown off steam independently. He wants a bachelor party and she agrees to it. Travis calls his brother to tell them to come down.

The brothers land in the morning and end up in line behind Benny, who makes promises to Darius of happiness after he gets money and fingers.

Shep finds Mare banging a coconut on a tree to let off steam about his spying. He tries to brush off the situation but she drops the coconut on his foot. Tyler and Taylor find him and grill him about keeping the money for himself. Trenton asks if Shep has a bidet so the twins turn their attention to Trenton. Travis and Abby grab Shep to tell him they're heading to the beach since the girls spa day was postponed. Thomas throws a football into Shep's stomach with a "think fast" warning.

The group arrives at the beach and the women ogle the Maddox brothers. They play a game together with the losers having to do pushups on the sand. Shep finds Mare making a giant sand castle. He asks what's going on with her as she's literally building a giant wall between them. She feels like she's learning things about him, which he thinks is great. She doesn't like that he hunts, though he insists that it isn't something he hid from her. She's not sure she should have even tried and he agrees while walking away.

The Maddox's compete in the hot pepper semifinals while the girls have a relaxing spa day. While there, they meet Vivian, who is stressed. She mistakes Abby and America as being the newlyweds. Vivian asks where the rest of the party is and realizes that's what Travis wanted, not Abby. She wants to make him happy and hears how awful that is. Vivian grabs a server by the pants and convinces him to leave the tray. Vivian thinks the marriage is starting on a bad foot as it's about his needs and not hers. She leads women retreats and reminds them not to demean their power. Vivian invites the girls to joy her party.

The Maddox brothers visit a cock fighting ring where one of the owners mourns the loss of his rooster, who he calls his son. The girls went to the streets to find more fun on the streets. They end up at a wrestling match. The ringmaster wants someone to fight Thumbelina and Abby, thinking Thumbelina is a delicate flower, volunteers to fight her. Abby asks for a costume.

Shep is upset over the roosters death and tries to get it together when the owner collapses in front of him from grief. He finds the entire thing sick and decides to save the roosters.

Abby enters the ring in a cat costume. The fight has no rules and Abby starts by playing with Thumbelina. The girl is a skilled wrestler and beats Abby up. Travis finds the wrestling ring and watches with Mare. Abby is knocked to the floor so Travis enters the ring to help her. She needs his advice right now. He tells her to go for the knee, which Abby thinks is mean. Travis admits it is mean but might save her life. Abby realizes Thumbelina is flirting with Travis. She goes for the knee and body slams Thumbelina while Travis cheers from the sideline.

The Maddox's go back to the villa drunk and surprise Travis with a bunch of women. They brought the "eye candy" for the single ones and not Travis. Trenton tells him not to get any cute idea because Abby is his sister now. Thomas agrees with him on that one. Travis watches the party as Shep struggles to bring crates of roosters inside.

Abby, Mare, and Vivian get drunk by a fireplace as they talk men. Vivian got married too young and it didn't work out. Mare doesn't think she'll ever get married.

Shep smuggles the roosters into his room and makes a coop for them. He presents them with food but the roosters fight each other. They attack him too and he screams in terror as they destroy his room.

Abby takes Mare out of the pool with Vivian's help. Benny is nearby trying to get ahold of Darius. He learns Darius cashed in his ticket.

Shep is in the closet when his mom calls to tell him she's at hospice and about to pull the plug on his grandmother. He cries in the closet at his grandma flatlines.

Trenton sees something on the telescope and kisses a girl. Travis is getting food when Blanca sneaks up behind him. They flirt with him and ask him to have fun with them, promising not to tell. He leaves them at the table, unaware that they stole his phone.

Vivian lets the girls stay on the cot outside her mansion. Abby needs a bathroom but Vivian won't let her in the room because it's her son, Parker's. Abby learns her last name is Hayes. She has a lightbulb moment and remembers dating him. She tries to wake up Mare.

Blanca and her friend go through Travis's phone. Abby video chats him and the girls answer, showing their breasts. She believes he's cheating so she breaks into Parker's bedroom to get even. She takes pictures of them together while he sleeps through everything. Most of the pictures end up blurry because he rolls around.

Shep wakes up in the closet the next morning and peeks through the door. He gets scared by the remaining roosters. One of which walks the villa grounds. Shep finds the mess in his room and a drawing of him on the wall that the chickens made.

Travis tries to find Abby and Mare to no avail. He tracks her phone and finds her at a nearby villa.

Abby is asleep in Parker's bed when she wakes up and once again mistakes the boy in her bed for a cat that she "pets". Travis sees them through the blinds. Parker wakes up finally and sees Abby, making them both scream. Travis bangs on the door while Mare screams over the belief that Abby slept with Parker. Travis bursts into the room, followed by Vivian, and chaos ensues.

Now, Travis and Abby finish their recap to Miguel. Travis is hurt to find her in bed with her ex on their honeymoon. She admits it was stupid and she was drunk. She did it to get a selfie to make Travis jealous. She only did it because she went to video chat Travis only to have breasts answer. Travis insists he didn't do anything and wasn't involved in it. She believes him now that she's sober. She figured some girls took his phone. Miguel still believes there's home in this. But she doesn't think it goes both ways in their relationship. Travis knows she set him up to fail. Abby remembers Miguel saying there's something between them worth fighting for. She doesn't have any fight left in her and neither does he. He leaves the table. Miguel tries to relay a passage to Abby but she tells him to save it because she's done.

Abby talks to Mare on the phone with plans to stay in Mexico for a while. Mare's struggling in her relationship with Shepley too. He hunts and spies on her which isn't right for her. Abby cuts off when she sees Benny across the court. She follows him and tackles him into the mud where they fight.

Travis is in his room when his brothers bang on his door, lined up to talk with him.

Abby apologizes for ruining Benny's painting. He's sorry for messing up her life. She excuses that because what he messed up was her relationship with her dad, not her life. She's sorry about Darius, too. Her relationship is falling apart too. He calls her a moron because they have real life, passion, and things that can't be bought on Amazon. When that happens "sha-bam".

The Maddox brothers tells Travis to fight for Abby. Thomas reminds him of what their dad says about fighting for both when one gives up. Tyler asks if Travis loves Abby and he does. They encourage him to go get her. Travis doesn't know where to start, but Taylor points out that she found him. Travis sees her over the balcony covered in mud. He jumps over the balcony and lands perfectly. He kisses her and the kiss turns into one on their second wedding in Mexico. Sancho sets up a photoshoot while the Maddox brothers fight. The camera snaps a picture seconds later.

That night, Thomas, Tyler, Trenton, and Taylor give Abby the ring their father gave their mother. She passed before Travis got to no her, but it's special. She's special too so they want her to have it. They love her, very much. She's honored by the gesture and wishes she could have met their mother. She accepts the ring and promises to cherish it forever. She's proud to call them her brothers. She hugs them just as Travis walks in. He questions what they're doing to her.

The reception rages on as Travis finds Shepley by the bar drinking a Trabby. He hasn't talked to Mare yet and isn't okay yet. It doesn't matter though because it's Travis's night. The cousins love each other and hug. Shep tells Travis to find his wife. Shep sees a drink sign for ShepMare and orders one. Mare is the bartender and they make up. She knows he freed the roosters and apologizes for spiraling about a dumb thing. He's sorry for spying on her and they get back together.

Sancho finds Benny by the bluffs. They both feel passed their prime and want a nap over painting and meditation. Benny wants to find someone to sail into the sunset with while messing up a few people. Sancho likes a man like Benny. He thinks Benny would find Mexican quite appealing.

Travis and Abby dance as she agrees to trying the Maddox name out if she can have personal towels. She's done with the points because she can't rationalize any of it. She loves him and that's all that matters. They kiss by the pool.
