Political career

Remulla was elected to the Cavite Provincial Board in 2019, placing first out of four candidates.[2] He was reelected in 2022.[3]

Congressional career (2023–present)

2022 special election

On May 23, 2022, his father, Jesus Crispin, was offered the position of Secretary of Justice under the incoming administration of then-president-elect Bongbong Marcos.[4] He accepted the position, resigning his rights to the seat before his second consecutive term as a representative began in order to assume the office, thereby triggering a special election for his seat.[5] As the son of the previous congressman, the younger Remulla was seen as the favorite to win the election.

Tenure

Remulla was sworn into office at the Batasang Pambansa Complex on February 28, three days following his election.[6][7] His brother, Francisco Gabriel "Abeng" Remulla, filled the seat he vacated in the Cavite Provincial Board.[8][9]

Personal life

Remulla is married to Georgia Parungao,[10] with whom he has a son.[7]

Like his father, grandfather and uncles, he is an active member of Upsilon Sigma Phi.
