National Talent Search Examination is a scholarship examination held every year in India.[2][3][4][5] It is conducted by the SCERTs of various states in its first stage and the NCERT in its second stage.
Examination
The first stage of the examination is held in Grade 9. Only those students who are selected in the first stage are allowed to give the second stage in Grage 10.[6][7]
Stages
Both stages of the examination consist of 2 papers:Mental Ability Test or MAT - 100 marks and Scholastic Ability Test or SAT - 100 marks.
Subjects such as Mathematics (20 marks), Science -Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40 marks) and Social Sciences -History, Geography, Civics, Economics and General Knowledge (40 marks) are included in the SAT. [8][9][10]
There is no negative marking in any paper of the test.[7]
