Jordan Schmidt

Jordan Schmidt was born in Duluth, Minnesota, United States. After graduating high school, Schmidt spent a year assisting for multi-platinum producer Matt Squire^[1] before setting up his first studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he worked with acts like Motion City Soundtrack, All Time Low, Quietdrive,^[2] Sing It Loud,^[3] You, Me, and Everyone We Know, Jamestown Story, Paradise Fears, & The Role Call.^[4]

In 2012, Schmidt relocated to Nashville, Tennessee with his brother and manager, Dane Schmidt. Together, the Schmidt brothers established their first music venture and spent the next couple of years writing, producing and releasing music. But it was a chance encounter with Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley in late 2014 that led Schmidt to shift his focus to writing full-time and shortly after, landed his first publishing deal as a Nashville songwriter.^[5]

In April 2015, Schmidt signed a publishing deal with Tree Vibez Music, founded by Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line,^[5] and earned his first #1 song with Jason Aldean's "Lights Come On" on July 22, 2016. He realized his second #1 with Kane Brown's 9× Platinum hit "What Ifs" in October 2017, following that with Jason Aldean’s 6× Platinum, multi-week #1 "You Make It Easy", then Mitchell Tenpenny’s 3× Platinum, "Drunk Me". In July 2019, Schmidt was awarded his fifth #1 song with Blake Shelton’s 4× Platinum "God's Country", which went on to win the category of Single of the Year for the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards, as well as earn a Grammy nomination for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in the Best Country Solo Performance category. During the pandemic Schmidt wrote & produced Nelly/Florida Georgia Line's 3× Platinum "Lil Bit"^[6] along with Blake Shelton's "Come Back As A Country Boy". In 2022, Schmidt earned his sixth & seventh #1's as a songwriter with Kane Brown's "Like I Love Country Music," and HARDY's "wait in the truck" featuring Lainey Wilson and a little over a year later in September 2023 Schmidt secured both his eighth & ninth #1 songs with Kane Brown's "Bury Me In Georgia" and Lainey Wilson's "Watermelon Moonshine."

Schmidt married female country artist Renee Blair on September 24, 2022.^[7] They currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee.
