Quchan County (Persian: شهرستان قوچان) is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Quchan.[3]

Until 2003, Quchan County had three districts: Central, Bajgiran, and Faruj. Faruj District was separated from the county and Faruj County in North Khorasan province was established.
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 179,613 in 45,502 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 179,714 people in 51,045 households.[5] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 174,495 in 52,851 households.[2]
After the census, the villages of Almajeq,[6] Mezerj,[7] and Shahr-e Kohneh[6] were elevated to city status.
In 2019, Dughayi Rural District and Quchan Atiq Rural District were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Abkuh District[8] and Quchan Atiq District,[9] respectively, each of which was divided into two rural districts.
