By creating this article I just realized that there is actaully no need for seperate 'year in U.S.' articles. Most of the year articles are almost all about the United States already. - SimonP 07:25, Nov 19, 2003 (UTC)

All the more reason to create them! By moving lots of the stuff off them that is only relevant to the US, you would enable the usual year pages to become more global in their outlook. :) Oh, but how about "United States" instead of "U.S.", for consistency with the name given to the United States article?
