Rather than just having lists of birthdays, it would be useful and helpful to have more information about the films that were released. The Silent Era is fascinating, and a lot of great films were made. Besides, the birthdays were not that important in 1913.
BTW, same goes for all the other years. Danny 04:00 Jan 25, 2003 (UTC)
- Let's have both. Add any info you want about the films. I intend to add more info on the movies myself but at the moment I'm adding a few birthdays. Someone looking into the history of film might be interested to know when different stars were born. -Jazz77
Sure, that's what I meant, as long as the films are there too. Danny 04:06 Jan 25, 2003 (UTC)
- Oh, absolutely. I'd love for these pages to go more into detail as to how film styles changed, technology evolved, etc.. There are a lot of "movie timelines" on the net, but very few of them are really that interesting to read.. I'd love for these pages to be more "useful" than any of the others out there. -Jazz77
Before the page gets any bigger, can I just ask, am I the only person who finds the use of the present tense somewhat disconcerting here? "Chaplin's film WAS made in 1913" makes sense. The Real Walrus 16:01, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, what disturbs me more than the verbal tense is that I've never heard of a Chaplin film made in 1913. I thought he started in 1914. Does anyone know of a film Chaplin made in 1913? -- Rizzleboffin 16:14, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- A quick bit of Googling shows IMDB lists his first film as 1914. I also find this info:
- * 29 December 1913 Signs contract with Keystone
- * Jan/Feb 1914 Charlie Chaplin's first film: Making a Living
- I suggest moving the sentence to the 1914 page. Does anyone object? -- Rizzleboffin 17:52, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
