This article may benefit from a brief introduction that includes a definition of AIMS, and perhaps some notes about its targeted audience, industries, disciplines, history, and broader context. See Wikipedia:Lead section for more information. Perhaps use the article on AgMES as basis for creating a lead section for this article.Tug201 16:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We have edited this page at FAO (Food & Agriculture Organization of the U.N.), as per the advice given by the Wiki editors. There is now a clearer definition of the work, following the pattern of the AgMES page (which is also an initiative of FAO). As a fairly new and unique initiative, the AIMS clearing house is undergoing a good deal of inspection and comment; we hope its objectives (coherence through agreed standards) will be understood and adopted by our partners in the world agricultural community. Any further suggestions to improve the introduction through WIKI are greatly appreciated.--FAO, Rome 11:44, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As best I can tell, this article does not meet the definition of the category internet standards. I have removed it from that category; if it is a standards track RFC, please cite that here or explain why I'm confused.--SamHartman 18:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
