AF signals?

The Japan section reads "the ATC system sends AF signals". But no explanation or link to what "AF" means? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.254.26.224 (talk) 14:26, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

Not much information in Africa

There's not much information about ATC in Africa box . Can anyone expand it ? TPNamE231 (talk) 10:50, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

Merge proposal

  • Believe that Digital ATC should be merged into the main ATC page. (Digital ATC is a type of ATC, and there really is no merit in having two separate pages). What do you all think? Tangotango 13:53, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
    • I have merged the two articles as detailed above. The corresponding article on the Japanese Wikipedia has a similar format. Tangotango 14:05, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Why Japan?

Why so much about Japan? I was under the impression that this was pretty much well-established everywhere, at least it is in Norway... --GSchjetne 19:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

That's simply because much of the content originated as translations of the corresponding articles on the Japanese Wikipedia. If you have any information to add to globalize the viewpoint, please do so. Cheers, Tangotango 09:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Usage on Rapid Transit

This article states that BART was the first "subway system" to use ATC. BART isn't entirely subway, so one can assume that's in the generic context, meaning "heavy rail rapid transit" more precisely. BART began operations in 1972, but the Chicago Transit Authority's Lake Street Elevated line implemented it from Harlem to the Chicago River in 1965. ATC was, therefore, in use on CTA, in part, seven years before it was in use on BART. Either the statement regarding BART is false, or may need to be clarified to indicate that it was the first either entirely equipped with ATC and/or the first system to have it implemented from its start of service. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.57.41.126 (talk) 02:56, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
