Serbia is the successor of Yugoslavia, by law, and all medals won under SFRY or FRY or SCG goes under Serbia! Correct it please. Just as Russia is sucessor of USSR, and so forth...109.121.55.161 (talk) 11:50, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The answer is NO. The IOC doesn't recognize any "successors". "All Summer and Winter Olympic medals of the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire were inherited by Russia, but NOT COMBINED together with the medal count of the Russian Federation".In fact, Sabonis, Marčiulions, Chomičius and Kurtinaitis and many other prominent "russian" players were from Lithuania.Max_Arosev (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) 2:58, June 12, 2017 (UTC)

Someone chose to remove the section listing all the venues. We can discuss whether the article should or should not have this information, but major changes like this should be discussed, and a consensus reached, before making such a change.--SPhilbrickT 12:43, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why do Spain and Italy have the Olympic flag, rather than their national flags? Grande (talk) 22:58, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Poland - women's team in 1976 ??
According to the article on women's basketball in 1976, POLAND DID NOT EVEN HAVE A TEAM IN THE TOURNAMENT!
Please get this straight. The women's basketball tournament in 1976 was a small one, with only one round-robin pool, and no playoffs. The six teams were from the USSR, the USA, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Japan, and Canada.
We do not need disinformation: there is no way that a Polish team could have finished in fourth place.

In the History->Women section all there is is the useless snetence "Women
They won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics." Kdammers (talk) 13:35, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps this is simply unknown, but I'd be very interested in reading more about how teams qualified for each Olympic tournament in the past. In recent years, the coverage is good, but there's nothing for older Olympics. Perhaps the information doesn't exist any longer, but if it does, I'm one reader who would be interested in reading it. The numbers in the columns marked "Winning Percentage" are not in fact percentages. Either the column header should be changed or the numbers should be converted to percentages.Ordinary Person (talk) 02:12, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be useful to add a section, or at least relevant links, that explain the rules for basketball in the olympics and compare them to, for example NBA rules, since these have sometimes lead to polemic discussions (for example the amount of steps, distances,...)What do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:88:6D29:C100:889B:1D89:87A0:600C (talk) 17:48, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Are these supposed to be added with Russia, or separate or something else? Howard the Duck (talk) 15:18, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
