103.186.73.30 (talk) 21:37, 24 September 2023 (UTC)This was very distasteful to Wazir Fateh Khan who descended upon the Punjab with a large force. But he was worsted by the Sikhs in the battle of Hazro, 12-13th July 1813, and was forced to fall back upon Peshawar. In view of the unfriendly behaviour of Fateh Khan, the Maharaja collected a large force at Sialkot, in October 1813, for the conquest of Kashmir, but, on account of a heavy snow-fall in the hills, it had to be postponed till April 1814. In 1814 the force was divided into two divi-sions; one under the Maharaja marched by way of Poonch, while the second under Ram Dayal, grandson of Muhkam Chand, passed through Bahramgala and defeated the Afghans in more than one battle. But he could not com-pletely occupy the country. Azim Khan, however, found his safety in coming to terms with Ram Dayal. The progress of the Maharaja, on the other hand, was retarded hy heavy rains and he returned to Lahore in August 1814.[reply]

Hypocrisy

Someone tell me why is battle of Kashmir 1814 considered Afghan victory when the Sikhs withdrew with multiple reasons such as downpour, disease and delay of equipment and reinforcements but battle of ramki 1835 is allowed to be inconclusive even with the afghans withdrawing after 12 hours of battle?
