gadfly petrel?

Where does the term, 'gadfly' come from?69.6.162.160 02:34, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Brian Pearson

  • A gadfly is an anoying fly (like a horse fly). I'm fairly sure that gadfly petrels are named for their helter skelter flight at sea, which is reminisent of a fly. Sabine's Sunbird talk 06:13, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I've linked the word gadfly to the gadfly petrel article. Rojomoke (talk) 10:41, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
