Spelling

Shouldn't the title of this article be corrected for spelling?: Calmécac? 189.180.157.20 (talk) 19:13, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

The accent on the é is a feature/requirement of spanish orthography (only), not in Nahuatl (or english). Since this is a nahuatl word not a spanish one, and our typical practice is to use diacritics only where they are conventionally used in the word's original (written) language, then in cases like this we wld usually leave off the diacritical mark. --cjllw ʘ TALK 06:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

This article was revised for a course assignment, which concluded in early December 2022. Revisions changed the original article's organisation and overall content, as existing themes were expanded and rearranged. More information was added regarding the calmecac in Tenochtitlan, it's architecture and ornamentation, aspects of the students' education and induction ceremonies, and the etymology of the word "calmecac."
