What does field size 1,020,000 sq ft mean? A hockey rink is 153,000 sq ft. So 1,020,000 sq ft (6.67 times the size of a hockey rink) obviously does not give the size of the floor space inside the seating area. Maybe it's the footprint of the building? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.107.87.10 (talk) 16:48, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, they jut put up the new signs that actually say "Verizon"--Niro5 02:38, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This section seems to imply with "home and away" that Sam travels with the Caps, is that true?
While I can understand the Panthers game being notable due to a sense of closure (a title was won, a historic comeback was completed), I don't think Game 1 in a Quarterfinals series, which was...yes...an amazing game...should be considered notable quite yet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.19.64.64 (talk) 22:20, 12 April 2008 (UTC) ♦[reply]
Yeah, define "notable". The Who? Notable. Stones? Notable. Dane Cook/Coldplay/Spice Girls/"High School Musical"? Not so much. Be discriminating or rename it "A List of Every Half-Assed Event Ever Held".
7 different wrestling entries? I'll give you the WCW entry (though it's now owned by WWE), but tighten it up. It just looks sloppy. I'd do it myself, but some people are entirely too touchy around here. Go4thAndDie (talk) 08:11, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The "notable events" are bloated. A bunch of concert tours? They stop at dozens of arenas --what's notable other than being DC's main arena? Nothing. It should be a final concert, or like how Uline hosted The Beatles first US concert --now that's notable. And unless it's something big like Wrestlemania, cut the pro-wrestling stuff too. Take an ax and chop away! --166.137.11.66 (talk) 17:40, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the "Notable games" section and placed some of the information into other sections, my feeling being that this article is not the place for a long list of games who's only significance is to the Capitals or Wizards. If these games are important enough, they should be mentioned in the main article for each team, but not in a general article focusing on the arena itself. My understanding form seeing other area articles is that they do not list key games form each and every season or playoff series, but only the most important (ie.. a Stanly cup or NBA finals, or a important or close conference playoff series). I moved some of them over to "notable events" but tired to keep them to events with a more national significance, or historical significance to the Arena itself. I've also updated and reworded the intro and history sections, and added information about the gentrification of Chinatown, along with the ESPN Outside the line report on the food safety violations. Lastly, I grouped the bad ice conditions, gentrification of Chinatown, food violations and attendance beaners into a new controversy section. WashBalt15 (talk) 07:47, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Somehow I doubt that the Verizon Center is actually owned by the Boston Bruins as I am being led to believe.--172.190.30.32 (talk) 20:54, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can we get a new photo for the arena? The current one is of the Verizon Center. Lord David, Duke of Glencoe (talk) 18:19, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
