Official judicial portrait not allowed?

I feel that the current portrait image of Beasley could be improved. Is usage of Beasley's official NC Supreme Court portrait not allowed under copyright? The page for the current Chief Justice, Paul Newby, uses their official portrait from the same website. LelandCarson (talk) 05:27, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

The Newby image is not allowed – I'll nominate it for deletion shortly. It was uploaded with the claim that it was created by a federal government employee, which is unlikely given that he's a justice of the state court. The nccourts.gov website itself does not allow commercial use of its content. I agree that the current image of Beasley is not ideal, but there aren't many images of her that are both good and freely licensed, unfortunately. DanCherek (talk) 05:29, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
