Given that its website is now a deadlink, is the resort itself still operating? Kerry (talk) 10:36, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And while investigating that it would appear that the island is now formally known as Porumo Island and perhaps the article should be renamed to reflect that. This is a bit outside my normal area covering public transport in New South Wales hence I am no too sure about this.Fleet Lists (talk) 11:31, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The island (as in a piece of land surrounded by water) is officially Coconut Island. The town (meaning the developed urban land on the island, the area west of the airstrip) is also officially Coconut Island, but the bounded locality (aka suburb) is officially Poruma Island (whose boundaries appear to coincide with the island's coastal edge). Generally when a town is only one suburb in size, the names are the same, but not always and I guess with the choice between the English and the indigenous name, they decided to have a bet each way. The article as it is currently written starts by saying "is an island" so it's correctly named Coconut Island (although I note that Poruma Island is a redirect).
