If it uses DirectShow

If it uses DirectShow how can it not need codecs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.162.41.140 (talk) 09:08, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

It's mostly powered by FFmpeg and so, by extension, Libavcodec. Read up on those to understand more about the full answer to your question ~ DarkCryst (talk)

Adrenalin reference

Anybody would repair -> Adrenalin

Contents copyed from The KMPlayer

I just don't understand the continuing attempt to copy the contents from The KMPlayer.

NPOV?

Sections 4 and 5 (Codec Finder and Broken or Incomplete Files) both read like they were copied and pasted from advertising copy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.242.23.111 (talk) 18:23, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Source of the License violation

As of the latest version of GOM Player I believe this has been recified; the program copyright info of version 2.1.17 states:

Video decoder included in this program is based on FFmpeg(http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net), and FFmpeg is licensed under LGPL. For LGPL license, please refer to LGPL.TXT in the program directory. Modified FFmpeg source can be obtained from http://www.gomlab.com/eng/gomdevel/ .

LPGL

I removed the section basically because it fails to include neutral third-party evidence. I am not personally disputing the claim; in fact I'm inclined towards believing it. Unfortunately..  Aaron  ►  07:26, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

The Facebook groups are unnecessary; that should be self-explanatory. If you'd like to dispute that, go ahead and make me do the work. The download link is, again, unnecessary, but again, you can dispute that here. I'll just deter some lower-level argument by mentioning that CCleaner doesn't include a download link.  Aaron  ►  07:30, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

I disagree [with the edit removing this, and have reverted]. Put simply, [one of] the PRIMARY notable aspects of this piece of software is that it most probably is the world's most widespread 'illegal' media player. (Gretech admits to using ffmpeg code, and does not follow the license, it is clear cut). This is a relatively minor media player, and is primarily distinguished in only two ways: popularity in South Korea, and its blatant violation of copyright. Not mentioning either at the top of the article would seem illogical. 24.69.74.10 (talk) 07:18, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Just a section about it would be okay. Far too much info was added in introduction, Ill edit it to make it seem less intrusive Nz101 - Talk :: Contribs 07:22, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Much better introduction now. Thanks for your cooperation on this -- Nz101 - Talk :: Contribs 07:39, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Note: Mentioning an alleged copyright violation without proper reliable sources is likely a violation of WP:NPOV, WP:LIBEL and possibly others like W:BLP. Please do not (re-)add that information without proper sources. --SF007 (talk) 02:30, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on GOM Player. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
