Anyone know enough about Stanley to replace much of this text (mostly a speculation on his involvement with the flag) with biographical info? I know nothing about him, myself. Jwrosenzweig 17:42, 25 Feb 2004 (UTC)

George Stanley and the War Artist Program

It was my understanding that the person most responsible for Canada's War Artist program was the Rt. Hon. Vincent Massey. Massey was a member of Toronto's Arts and Letters Club and during the early years of WWII was Canada's High Commissioner in London. He saw the work of the British War Artists and shamed and browbeat Mackenzie King into starting a program in Canada in 1942. George Stanley may well have been involved as an administrator (I don't know), but I would not say "he was responsible" for it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fire5ign (talkcontribs) 14:55, 5 January 2007 (UTC).

Peculiar Sentence

The article says: Stanley's design was slightly modified by a government graphic artist (who, ironically enough, was a separatist). Not to name the graphic artist, but nevertheless to include the detail that he or she was a separatist strikes me as really peculiar. Someone who knows should either include the name or delete the parenthesis. Tom Duff 16:38, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Family relation

Anyone know if this George Stanley was related to George Douglas Stanley, the Member of Parliament from Calgary? --Cloveious 21:27, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
