Page/Naming debate

Should the page and title be named after his false identity, when he was clearly shown as fraudulent? Unless he acquired a legal name change, his birth/european name should be used to refer to him, not his assumed racial name.

Usual policy is to refer to authors by their pen names. E.g. H.D., George Orwell, etc.

Missing reference

Hi Parkwells! This article currently has a footnote saying "Cite error: The named reference fools was invoked but never defined", and I think that was introduced in this edit you made. What is the reference that you wanted to include? Based on looking around, possibly "Fool’s Gold: The Story of Jamake Highwater, the Fake Indian Who Won’t Die"? Happy to fix it, just not sure if that's right. Dreamyshade (talk) 04:28, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for seeing that and helping find the source again. You're right, I had been citing the article in Indian Country Today, and will add that and the link. It was most telling. I hope that ICTMN starts publishing again; was very sorry to see their announcement of suspending operations.Parkwells (talk) 15:08, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
