"Conduct of an abominal description"

Now here's a thing: a John Herbert Turner was convicted at the Middlesex County Sessions (London) on 18th Jauary 1858 of "Indecent conduct of an abominal description" in the Adelphi Dark Arches (Strand, London)- a euphemism for homosexual buggery (see the 'Morning Chronicle' of 19th January 1858). What else could one do after such a humiliation but emigrate (to Canada?) and fudge the date slightly?31.55.13.217 (talk) 09:35, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
