Out of curiosity, given all the tension between white people and black people in Zimbabwe, and the forced evictions of white landowners and so on, has there ever been criticism of her in Zimbabwe for not being black, or is she talented enough that the press are behind her? -- Dandelions, not logged in —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.159.74.84 (talk) 14:19, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Mugabe has certainly verbally embraced her (though some would say rather hypocritically), and it's widely known that she's the only Zimbabwean who has a good probability of earning medals at Beijing. AnonMoos (talk) 19:25, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Does she still live in Zimbabwe? If not, we should state her country of residence. Funnyhat (talk) 19:49, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
I think she's mainly based in Texas nowadays, and hasn't lived full-time in Zimbabwe for about five years... AnonMoos (talk) 19:19, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

They generally go stale after about a month; should probably link to the original Reuters article ("Mugabe hands Olympic medalist $100,000 cash reward, Fri Aug 29, 12:38 PM ET, HARARE (Reuters)"). -- AnonMoos (talk) 13:00, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Controversy

Perhaps we should mention the fact that she seems very much in bed with Mugabe - a ruthless dictator. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.67.87.227 (talk) 14:24, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Not sure what the great controversy is; she basically stands beside her country's ruler for a few minutes every four years, smiles, and accepts the money which makes life easier for her family. Anyway, unless you can provide external evidence that there's significant criticism on this point, Wikipedia policies prevent including it in the article... AnonMoos (talk) 01:34, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Record box

Currently the "Women's 100 metre backstroke world record holder (long course)" box is internally inconsistent... AnonMoos (talk) 01:31, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Also the first "World African Swimmer of the Year" box has her preceded by "Incumbent" which is logically impossible (should it say "New Award" or something like that instead?). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.215.154.27 (talk) 04:54, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
