Hmm. I wonder what Dinosaur (film) would count as - animation or film? The characters were all computer generated, but the backgrounds were real-life things. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 10:29, Aug 26, 2004 (UTC)

I wonder why the animation section even exists, since all the examples given are from film and television. Combine them, and problem solved.--~TPW 21:45, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

what about that american-godzilla-like (CG) japanese "dinosaur"?

If that really counts as a fictional dinosaur, I didn't watch the movie, whose name I do not even recall. I hate when I can't remember something... --Extremophile 20:37, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup

I see that there is very little maintenance on this article, as such I am going to begin cleaning up including the following itemized things I plan to do:

  1. Add a lede statement specifically specifying that this is a list of /characters/. This list should not contain works that "feature" dinosaurs nor works that have un-named dinosaurs, they should (if enough exist to justify it) exist within an article like dinosaurs in fiction or list of works featuring dinosaurs.
  2. Removing all unnamed items, redlinked items without references.
  3. Re-organizing into the standard Lit, film, TV, comic, animated and video game sections.
  4. Potentially (eventually) converting list into a table format that lends itself to more information being input when characters are added.

Any questions comments or concerns can be placed below or on my talk page. Thanks. Ncboy2010 (talk) 12:15, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

== Loch Ness Monster?I notice that all four of the entries under "mythology" are African cryptids that sound a lot like dinosaurs; if that's the case, then I think maybe the Loch Ness Monster (and maybe some other lake monsters) should be listed as a pleisiosaur. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.62.78.94 (talk) 23:27, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

References

Despite the lead claiming that this list is limited to well-referenced fictional dinosaurs, we have no references in an article that is somewhere around a decade old. Once I remove the unsourced information, the page will be empty. I'm going to do that when I get back from vacation, and I hope that someone comes along in the meantime and provides some backup for this really poor list. So to be clear: I will fix the problem by removing uncited assertions of notability.--~TPW 21:50, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Little to no Marine Reptiles

There ought to be more fictional marine reptiles (plesiosaurs, ichthyosaurs, ect.) (though I like to call them and pterosaurs "Pseudo-Dinosaurs".2600:1700:6841:4980:E120:B893:BDAA:E5B8 (talk) 05:10, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
