Final para with info about MARDI comes from Malin Space Science website. Note Wiki article on Phoenix indicates significantly more of Surveyor 2001 Lander would be included in Phoenix project.--Rbs, 08:22 MTC on MSD 46249 07:16, 7 February 2004‎

Which later missions took over its science objectives eg of the MIP ISPP module

Has the whole MIP module, or any of its 5 experiments been flown since ? - Rod57 (talk) 13:31, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

Mars Surveyor 2001 Lander Mars Surveyor 2001

The lander can easily be covered here in this article with no loss in information yet still be small enough for a comfortable read; I'm unsure why we need separate articles when these two articles on their own are too small to justify their existence apart from one another when they basically cover the same topic. A merged article could also open an opportunity to expand the article on the proposed rover that was to fly with the lander on this mission, and the eventual success of its surviving component, 2001 Mars Odyssey. – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · articles · reviews) 21:59, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
