Who handled Rex after Megan?

I've seen several references to Rex's handler before Megan, and that he supported Megan's efforts to adopt Rex. I'm curious, though, and there's no page for Rex himself to ask this. Rex remained a working military dog for several years after Megan left the Marines. Who worked with him during that time? Did he have a single handler, with a similar bond to him as he'd shared with his first two handlers? If so, did they make any competing effort to adopt him? Or was he not in the field any more? What happened to Rex during those years he kept working? Or is Rex notable enough to create a page for him to address these sorts of questions? Critterkeeper (talk) 04:28, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

According to Leavey, Rex was classified non-deployable and remained working on-base, and used in training. See here and here. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 07:16, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
