Talk:Queen's Park High School

Hello all, and thank you for contributing to this school site. I'm part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Assessment team, and I'm reviewing this page. I'm currently giving it a grade of Stub on the Wikipedia 1.0 Assessment Scale and an importance of Low on this importance scale.

My reasoning is as follows: Not much information and some unchecked vandalism (over 75% of content) which I reverted. Needs references, pictures, etc... Adam McCormick 04:36, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello,

I hope this is the correct method to comment on a wikipedia entry. I found your contact info after perusing an article on Queen's Park High School, Chester, UK.The article states:"In 1939 a new extension was granted to the school and the boys moved into it leaving the older building to the girls. The boys school changed its name simply to Chester City High School and the girls school changed its name to City & County School Chester for Girls. The school remained this way until 1971 when the two schools became one."

I was a pupil at this school from 1966 - 1972. When I first attended, it was called "Chester City Grammar School", although I can't say for sure how long that was its name. The headmaster at the time, Charles Race, was a Latin scholar, who had written a school song, in Latin, referring to Chester's Latin name (given by the Romans) of "Deva", which we had to sing occasionally at assembly in the morning.

There are plenty of Google references to "Chester City Grammar School" to confirm the name.
