When were the ruins of great zimbabwe conquered? who controlled great zimbabwe when it was incorperated into the rozwi state.

heres a list of places in the rozwi Empire Circa 1700 AD1..Khami2..Dhlo Dhlo3..Zambabwe (ruins) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.164.123.146 (talk) 18:53, 14 August 2010 (UTC) Well there is no difference between Kalanga and Karanga, the Kalanga yes inhabitated present day Masvingo but where displaced westwards, when the whites eliminated the L in shona then you had this Karanga spelling, however present day Masvingo people are not predominant the Moyo totem people, however the Karanga tribe was imposed on them by British Pioneer column reading old portugeuse maps that had indicated that the people in this area were called Kalanga. Ze Zuru has similar problem, Zuru means north or high area or top now those who moved north Ve Zuru or Pe Zulu they became known, and this included everyone regardless of totem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.2.126.175 (talk) 02:00, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Date of beginning and end

There is some contradiction between dates in the text (1684-1834) and dates in the box (1660-1834).
Which one is it exact?
I think the beginning is in 1660, since the "Mutapa" article says Rozwi made Mutapa vassal in 1663.
About the end I don't know if Matabele needed few years or thirty years to overrun Rozwis.

I question the scanty mention of the Kalanga people they seem to have been the builders of the Mapungubwe empire which led to the development of the Great Zimbabwe. More details of the connection between the Kalanga culture in art and pottery should shed more light on the development and growth of the the Great ruins and their connection to the smaller less majestic ruins to the west of Zimbabwe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Felis rufus lynx (talkcontribs) 15:18, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Change of article title/move of page

Having changed the title of the page (or moved it), I was presented with a page which confirmed the move and said it was successful. It also said that the move should be reflected on "Wikidata", and asks that I confirm the change, which I did, but it hasn't happened. So now what? Do I report it? To whom? Rozvi related to Barotse?

When I was young I was taught that the 'wa-Rozvi' were the same as or closely related to the Barotse. Is this not the case? Thank you for any information. 2001:8003:1D9E:9400:D803:AAF1:88D0:5473 (talk) 07:38, 21 May 2024 (UTC)

Not the case. The Barotse, or more properly Lozi people are a Tswana-related people who settled in Zambia. The Rozvi were Shona. Babakathy (talk) 16:43, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
