"Cynical" ending?

How is the ending cynical? The horrible operations and isolation of the scanners is made obsolete; the scanner operation is reversed for the scanners, who retain their status and their guild; the space lanes remain open; and space travel is made safe for regular humans.

Always seemed like a pretty upbeat ending, to me.74.95.43.249 (talk) 00:03, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

I've removed the sentence entirely since it's unsourced. Clarityfiend (talk) 01:25, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
