First Sherifaite of Mecca

So this is a question: It's writen in this article that Abu al-Misk Kafur chose one of the sharifs of Hejaz and installed him as emir of Mecca in about 964. Is this Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Hasani? Because we can read here: https://www.search.com.vn/wiki/en/Ja%27far_ibn_Muhammad_al-Hasani , that Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Hasani "conquered", and not "named" or "installed has" emir of Mecca.
