Teresa Teng was born in Taiwan. In chinese language wikipedia all reliable sources points her as 臺灣女歌手. Another similar singer Fei Yu-ching as Taiwanese (and in chinese lang wiki 臺灣男歌手) too.
Ethnic chinese are different than chinese citizens which are referred to PRC citizens. Chinese-Singaporean singer aren't chinese singer.
Unlike Fei-Yu-ching who retires but like Dolores O'RiordanFrank Sinatra who passed away, I follow the convention to mention (year born - year demise).
