Assignment questions

A few questions:

  • Personal background of the person studied
  • Jewish faith and religious group (eg. Progressive, etc)
  • Their contributions to society
  • How they have broken down stereotype views of Jewish people in Australia
  • Describe how they have lived out their faith
Hi there. This is an encyclopedia. We don't do your homework for you. For the first, read the article. For the second, the article doesn't say, and it would be useful information to add if you can find out. For the third, read the article. For the fourth and fifth, you're going to have to do some more research on your own, and think about what the questions mean. What are stereotypical views of Jewish people in Australia, for instance? And what does Judaism require, or request, of Jews? What aspects of this relate to Cowen's life?
Good luck with your assignment. --Robert Merkel 00:45, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Former governors-general at his funeral?

In his piece in today's Age, Michael Shmith wrote:

  • There were the nation's highest officials, from Governor-General Quentin Bryce and Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, to a litany of former GGs [sic], former PMs .....

Who were the former governors-general in attendance? I've seen no reference to them anywhere else, it's all been about the 3 former PMs. It would be extraordinary if none of the living former GGs (Stephen, Hayden, Deane, Hollingworth, Jeffery) made it, so I assume Shmith was speaking the truth. But details, dammit, I need details. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 02:53, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Inclusion in Rhodes Scholar article

There is a link from this article to the Rhodes Scholar page but no mention of Sir Zelman Cohen in that article.

Amongst the list of notable Rhodes Scholar recipients there are a number of former Australian Prime ministers listed and then it goes on to US presidential candidates and so on. Perhaps a listing in there might be warranted. Andmark (talk) 23:21, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Bibliography

I have commenced a Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
