Proposed change: make honorific a name field

@Shii: @JalenFolf:

At User:WhisperToMe/Burmesenametest I have a proposed new version of the template, but for it to work with honorifics it needs to be in this format:

For U Thant: {{User:WhisperToMe/Burmesenametest|honorific=yes|U}}

For Aung San Suu Kyi {{User:WhisperToMe/Burmesenametest}} just says she has no family name.

I would like to roll the change out, but this modification is substantial and needs many changes in Wikicode across various articles. Hence I have a discussion opened here.WhisperToMe (talk) 12:31, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Help needed re how to classify Burmese names as mononymous

Hello. I'm trying to maintain the List of legally mononymous people, and need help regarding how to classify Burmese names. If you're familiar with Burmese language and naming customs, I'd appreciate your contribution to the discussion there. Thanks! Sai ¿? 19:49, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
