Template:Match in progress → Template:current-sport-inline — This is essentially an inline version of {{current sport}}, so should be moved to a title with "inline" in it. As not all sports use events called matches, this would make it clearer. This just indicates that the current line/table cell will be updated soon or frequently, serving the same purpose as current-sport in an inline manner. 65.93.15.213 (talk) 05:05, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

- Oppose Let´s keep it the way it is, easier to understand. Match in progress means that it gets updated when/if something happens, don´t see a need to change. Kante4 (talk) 01:19, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
- If a sport doesn't call it a match (say it calls it a game, or it's instead about a tournament) it would allow usage in a greater number of sports without the idiosyncraticness of the name. The redirect would still rename so that {{Match in progress}} could still be used. 65.93.15.213 (talk) 07:25, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

I believe that this template should be deleted as it is causing to much hassle with users using in progress to update live scores which isn't for wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a live scoring site. Skyblueshaun (talk) 13:52, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

There is no clear consensus that Wikipedia is not for live score, so that is simply a personal oppionon. Jack Bornholm (talk) 17:59, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
- Proposal at Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not/Archive 47#Proposal to add Wikipedia is not a Scoreboard also failed to gain consensus. Zzyzx11 (talk) 21:40, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
