The Public Security Department of Guangdong Province

The Public Security Department of Guangdong Province (Traditional Chinese: 廣東省公安廳) is the functional department responsible for overseeing public safety^[1] work throughout the province under the jurisdiction of the People's Government of Guangdong Province.^[2] It operates under the dual leadership of the provincial government and the Ministry of Public Security. In each city and county (district), there is a Public Security Bureau (Sub-bureau),^[3] and police stations are established in towns, townships, and streets. The Public Security Bureau (Sub-bureau) and police stations respectively receive leadership from the local people's government at the same level and the higher public security authorities.^{[4][citation needed]} The director of the department is Liu Guozhou.^[5][6]
