February 2014

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • ''Kto?'' (''Who?''), organised by the Russian broadcaster [[Russia-1 (TV channel)|Russia-1]]).

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 23:19, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

The correct stage name of the Portuguese singer is Suzy, not Susy. Go check on the official website of Eurovision. Gianluca91 (talk) 00:16, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Subdivisional flag usage on articles

AxG,

How familiar are you with the use of subdivisional flags within event articles? It's just that there is a heavy debate taking place at Talk:Türkvizyon Song Contest in which an editor is stating that we cannot show subdivision flags of China because it is against Chinese Law. However I cannot find any policy that make their inclusion become forbidden. The flags are used because the official source uses them too, and we've cited that fact. Surely sourcing would outweigh this alleged law that I have never even heard of? Wes Mᴥuse 21:46, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

@Wesley Mouse: I probably won't be any help, but from what I've read in the past Chinese provinces are forbidden in creating their own flags, the only ones that do are the special administrative regions of Hong Kong, and Macau. But then this reminds me of the Northern Ireland flag issue, officially they have had no flag since around the 1970s, yet the Ulster Banner is still officially used to represent them in some sporting events, such as the Northern Ireland national football team and Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games. -- [[ axg //  ]] 22:13, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
I'm presume that is why the event organisers of Turkvizyon used these "unofficial" flags for the respective Chinese regions to differentiate them from each other, as it is in theory a competition event, so distinguishing them from each other without using the same flag would avoid confusion I guess. Wes Mᴥuse 22:20, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
