AFTAC

Yeah, if there are sources, trust me someone will improve it eventually, even if it's quite a while before that happens. The main thing now is make sure a related article or two links to it, so people can find it. Also consider adding a category, see WP:CAT.

Do you want it moved to AFTAC? If it's almost exclusively referred to by the acronym, then that's where it should go. Thanks. --W.marsh 02:03, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --DonThorntonJr (talk) 22:25, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

First - the user pages are a blank canvas that each user should be able to mould into something distinctive and personal.

Second - I have just recently re-acquainted myself with my Wikipedia user account and the link I have placed here is only a placeholder.

This page is a work-in-progress and therefore should be treated as such - if you expect every user to create a fully populated user page then I suggest you provide a default template that can be easily "filled-in" .

We routinely delete userpages that are used to advertise products, companies, people, causes, etc. However, a single link to another webpage that you control is acceptable (especially because it helps us to understand you better), so it's nowhere near being what Wikipedia policy considers speedy-deleteable spam. Someone would have to show good evidence for interpreting your userpage as advertising at all; as I see it, you're doing nothing wrong. Nyttend (talk) 01:27, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! I didn't think I was doing anything wrong since I was trying to just get the process of building my user page going. I have edited the content to be a little more descriptive but an admin on the Wiktionary site has blocked me completely - This user is currently blocked. The latest block log entry is provided below for reference: 21:14, 12 June 2013 SemperBlotto (Talk | contribs) blocked DonThorntonJr (Talk | contribs) with an expiry time of infinite (account creation disabled, email disabled, cannot edit own talk page) (Spamming)
As was noted at WP:ANI, Wiktionary is separate from Wikipedia and operates on different rules, so people here have no influence there unless they're also active members of that community. I'm surprised that you were blocked without talk page access without warning, as that's not what we do here, but perhaps the rules are far stricter over there. I've left a note at the blocking admin's page, saying basically "DonThornton wants to appeal the block" and asking him to leave a note at my talk page here. Nyttend (talk) 05:42, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
You've been unblocked at Wiktionary. The blocking admin left a note to me that included a warning: if you again post the link that you posted before, you'll again be blocked. Nyttend (talk) 12:15, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
