Re:Welcome

Hi again. The question you asked is very good one. There is no correct answer! It all depends on what you prefer. Many Wikipedians like to keep track of the entire discussion, so they will respond below the message posted on their talk page. Others such as me have gotten into the habit of replying on the other person's user talk page because it makes sure that they receive the message (the orange bar comes on top). Many people on their talk pages have a notice on whether they will reply on their or your talk pages.

The other option, which takes the most effort but is the best IMO, is responding on both talk pages. What one does first is reply below the intial message, then copy and paste the conversation on the other person's talk page. This is the safest option though as I said, takes most time. The Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines deals with talk pages in general (not just usertalk pages) which may provide you with more information. GizzaDiscuss © 03:21, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Schools Cricket

Hi, good idea for an article. If I were you I'd just write it and post a note at the cricket project page, then other people will chime in and categorise it for you etc. Remember to include a few references wherever you can, books as well as online stuff. Articles evolve over time and people will add their own bits. Go for it. There's lots of public school stuff but also today's 'chance to shine' initiative and things like that which will have lots of modern newspaper mentions and therefore stop the deletion hounds saying it isn't a notable subject. There's tonnes of coverage in Wisden of course, though not so much in the modern editions, things like the Eton Harrow match, pieces like this [1] as well. W. G. Grace

I think adding what CLR James said on Grace was a good idea, but I don't see why you've deleted the quotation from Peter Wynne-Thomas, which I think sums up Grace's unique status very well. JH (talk page) 08:37, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough. I just felt that Wynne-Thomas's words were a very good description of Grace's status. And Grace is so eminent, that one can make a case for including more than one tribute. JH (talk page) 08:27, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
