English language and encyclopedic style

Sorry for assuming that English is not your first language, but a lot of your additions to Lê dynasty fall short of the English grammatical and encylopedic style standards required on Wikipedia. As an example, don't assert in WP:WIKIVOICE that a historical figure was cruel or that some event was ironic. Your content additions are greatly appreciated, but I would suggest first proposing texts on the talk page or in a sandbox first before making massive changes to existing articles. I'd be very happy to work with you on these portions of text.

Also, please note that some of your additions rely heavily on primary historical sources, which should only be cited with care. — MarkH21talk 01:06, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

May 2020

Your recent editing history at Lê dynasty shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — MarkH21talk 01:16, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

Hello. Edit warring at Lê dynasty

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

The full report is at the edit warring noticeboard. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 02:31, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

@EdJohnston: The disruptive editing to restore the passages of broken English is now being continued by an all-caps shouting IP here and here. — MarkH21talk 02:43, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: Now this. — MarkH21talk 02:45, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
83.220.173.59 (talk · contribs) is now blocked by User:Gorilla Warfare 31 hours for disruptive editing. This is a Russia-based IP and I'm wondering it it's a VPN or an open proxy. See also https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_uploaded_by_Zhu_Zi_Ling where a commons:User:A who says he was born in Vietnam speculates who the uploader Zhu Zi Ling might be, and says he could be a sock of User:Đăng Đàn Cung. However Zhu Zi Ling has done other work on Commons that seems legit. If this becomes too annoying I guess we may have to semiprotect some talk pages. If you have a lot of patience, you could ask commons:User:A if they have other ideas and maybe an SPI could eventually be filed. EdJohnston (talk) 03:36, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: The editor jumped onto another IP, 45.117.160.99 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) which was also just blocked. Sorry if it’s not clear to me, but what’s the potential connection to Đăng Đàn Cung? — MarkH21talk 03:44, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
It was speculation on my part, since Talk:Lê dynasty contains a bunch of image warnings. I guessed that whoever was doing the bad images could be the same as the IP user. (since not that many people will be finding their way to the Lê dynasty). EdJohnston (talk) 03:53, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
Ah I see. There is a fair number of different IP editors that make their way to the various Vietnamese history articles though, so it may be a different editor. Perhaps the best thing is to do is to see if this just dies down first. — MarkH21talk 04:20, 25 May 2020 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: Good guess! — MarkH21talk 15:28, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
