Naaaah

You know I usually agree with you, but Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cylon (Battlestar Galactica), errr. I'd recommend a withdraw, plus starting a merge discussions. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:26, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Eh, the article was sparse and the initial search results were the usual brief mentions, so it happens. Seems fine to just let it run its course at this point. TTN (talk) 12:36, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Trolling? SPI needed?

Not a new user who clearly has it in for you: User_talk:Darkknight2149#TTN. I don't know who it may be, since they seem to be like someone from your past, not mine. Maybe User:Reyk may have an idea, since he commented about that account connection to User:A Nobody, but I have never interacted with that. Still, if there are concerns like this, SPI may be worth considering. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:14, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

  • Sorry, that was the 131 IP. Clearly A Nobody editing as an IP from one of his usual haunts. I don't know anything about Miraclepine, if they've had previous accounts, and if so who they were. Reyk YO! 10:21, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Seems to just be a combative inclusionist. Though given that I have around 14 years on and off, it wouldn't be surprising for someone to hold a long term grudge. There was someone recently who posted a message like "I'm going to automatically oppose anything you do because I think you DONTLIKEIT" or something to that effect. That may or may not have been them. TTN (talk) 12:11, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Articles that actually need deleting

Since your current goal is cleaning up fiction fancruft, I would recommend taking at Batman: Dead White, Batman: Inferno, and Batman: Fear Itself at some point (about a trilogy of novels). I found these as stubs years ago and took it upon myself to flesh them out to meet Wikipedia standards. However, as soon as I looked for sources, I came back dead empty. These novels received almost no coverage and are clearly too obscure to have Wikipedia articles. DarkKnight2149 07:44, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi, this is about your adding of templates that I wouldn't dare use.

Excuse me, but who are you? I would presume that only Administrators or trusted users with special tools to have the right to add the templates you are adding, so may I ask you if you are allowed to dictate whether or not something is useful and if an article is a candidate for deletion or if you think you have the right to start a discussion about whether or not an article should get deleted when perhaps discussion is pointless? I am sorry if I have come off as aggressive, but I am tired of people that think they can do things that they shouldn't do.

You have 24 hours to explain to me why or not you have the right to add that template, and if you don't answer within that time-frame (I may be lenient) then I will remove that template because frankly I don't quite trust you. FunnyWick (talk) 02:24, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, read WP:PROD and WP:AFD. I'd also suggest asking for a WP:MENTOR because you have quite a bit to learn about the site. TTN (talk) 02:40, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
Oh... but I would think it I'd be more logical if someone of high status could only add those templates, but I guess that would be tiresome and would take too long if only well-received users did that. I guess I will stay away from what I don't understand, even though that makes me less helpful... I pretty much only came here to add two articles that I thought should be added to Wikipedia anyway, and I decided to edit a lot while I wait to become an Autoconfirmed User, and I will become one soon and maybe I stop annoying people with my stupidity and start doing something I actually know how to do... I think I do. I am sorry to have bothered you. By the way (this is not an excuse, please don't assume that), I have Aspergers. I am sorry again, I should have remembered to assume good faith. User talk:JarlaxleArtemis

I reverted your edit to User talk:JarlaxleArtemis. This was a pure housekeeping action as JarlaxleArtemis has been permanently banned from all WikiMedia sites since September 2006. JIP | Talk 10:14, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

@JIP: I think that page should be fully protected to prevent such mistakes in the future, what do you think? ミラP 03:23, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
I had to do it again. You are doubtless using some sort of automated script for your countless deletion nominations, and thus User:JarlaxleArtemis was notified again, despite having been permanently banned for over thirteen years. JIP | Talk 00:46, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, Twinkle just notifies the creator automatically unless you uncheck it. Should that page just be protected? TTN (talk) 01:10, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
Yes, not doing it doesn’t seem like a good idea, considering JarlaxleArtemis created several DND topics many of dubious notability. After all, this was salted for five years until the WMF Office account created the page and forgot to protect it. @JIP: You have admin powers, so I don’t see why not do it yourself? ミラP 01:59, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Done. JIP | Talk 02:16, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Your talk page archives

One thing I have been wondering: Why does the list of your talk page archives start with 2, 1 instead of 1, 2 when it has all the archives from 3 onwards in the correct order? Is this by design or just a mistake? JIP | Talk 23:53, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

It was generated by the ClueBot III archiver I started using. No idea how to fix it, but I also haven't actually looked. TTN (talk) 11:45, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Re: Undead (Dungeons & Dragons)

I don't think it makes sense to propose to delete a supertopic for which extant subtopics exist. Since there are numerous articles on kinds of undead in Dungeons & Dragons (e.g., Vampire (Dungeons & Dragons), Skeleton (Dungeons & Dragons), Lich (Dungeons & Dragons)), those at least should be addressed before the supertopic covering them is addressed. BD2412 T 13:03, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

There's definitely plenty to talk about in terms of D&D's cultural impact, but I'm not sure if that general topic is suitable. But if you want to initiate a merge discussion on those topics, I'm certainly fine holding off on AfDing it. TTN (talk) 14:53, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol needs experienced volunteers
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions and review our instructions page. You can apply for the user-right HERE. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here)(click me!) 20:17, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Martok in list?

Hello TTN! In the recent deletion discussion about Martok you've raised the point that we should better take care for "Properly curated character lists" rather than separate articles in cases where notability is in doubt. Would you consider becoming a New Page Reviewer?

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hi TTN,

I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join the new page reviewing team, and after reviewing your editing history, I think you would be a good candidate. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; the new page reviewing team needs help from experienced users like yourself.

Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, most pages are easy to review, and habits are quick to develop). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR. If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message on my talk page or at the reviewer's discussion board.

Cheers, and hope to see you around, (t · c) buidhe 00:20, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
