I wanted to try using the sandbox, but since its a public one I am not sure I can save it. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to have my own.

You can make your own sandbox, by creating your own under your user directory under User:Vinwe/sandbox. Let me know if you need any help. Real96 02:25, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

{{Help Me }}Hello,I was looking through Wikipedia Userboxes. Within that, I found the this under the Education/India:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Userboxes/Education/IndiaI wanted to know how to add a new userbox. {{Help Me }}Help!. Somebody has autoblocked me. And when i put in that code they asked me to put for the autoblock, I still remain autoblocked(even thou it shows a big green tick mark in my page below). [:(]. I think the user who blocked me is Anthony.bradbury. I request admins to unblock me. I was contributing to WikiProject:Cricket. Please look at my contributions/edits before blocking me.

Autoblacks are done via the Wikipedia software, it appears from the Blocklog you haven't been blocked, make sure you are signed in and if you are signed in and it says ou're blocked then add {{subst:unblock|your reason here}} Thanks - Tellyaddict 11:05, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I am currently writing, updating and checking on Birla Institute of Technology and Science and somebody made a modification because of which the contents list in the beginning is not formatted properly. If you see the article, the formatting in the list of contents in the top is not proper after No.5. Its fine till 4.5. I didn't know how to modify it. Can someone help? Thanks,Cheers.Vinwe 01:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

I think it's fixed, now? Have a look, and let me know if there's anything else amiss. – Luna Santin (talk) 01:56, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I'm fixing it now. Basically the formatting for how far it indents is based on the number of equal signs surrounding a particular heading title. The one at No.5 had =, when it should've been ==, and all the ones after that needed one more than they had (all the == should've been ===, etc.). Nerwen 02:01, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, the problem is still unsolved. Let me try and explain it again. If you see this article Birla Institute of Technology and Science, the table of contents is not acting proper. After the 5th heading in the table of contents the spacing is not proper. Can someone help me correct it. The article is fine. The table of contents is the problem. Thank you very much for responding to my earlier pleas for help. I appreciate it.

I just looked at the article. There appears to be nothing wrong with the contents section. Jac roe 03:01, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
I see the problem, you need to adjust the "==" tags in place, some of them are single "=", where two are needed, and some have two where three are needed and so on. Nick Garvey 03:11, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

{HelpMe}Hi.I am currently improving the Harry Potter portal. I wanted to add the harry potter books navigational template to the portal. This is the one : Template:Harrypotter.

I however couldn't change the color in this template from light violet to the general color of the Portal. I wanted to know how I can modify the color of the template. (I do not want the template changed cause it is used elsewhere. I would like to create a new template copying the existing details but changing the color). Any ideas?

Thanks,

This is a tricky question, you could ask at the Help desk for further advice. You can just copy the template code to Portal page - and change the color there. To copy it go to the edit page of the template and copy the code. One color used appears to be #ccccff. The other colours may be generated by class="navbox". You could replace that with style="background-color: #f9f9f9; border: 1px solid #aaa; clear: both; font-size: 90%; margin: 1em 0em 0em; padding: 2px; text-align: center; width: 100%;" and change the colors. This is a little tricky and I'm not 100% sure it will work, ask at the Help desk perhaps.--Commander Keane 03:15, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Family tree template for Mahabharata and Ramayana

Hi Vinwe,I say your message at the Project Hinduism message board. I'm trying out a family tree template to see if we can use it for creating Mahabharata and Ramayana family trees. Check out my sandbox to see what I started. I think it might work. It takes some experimenting to get comfortable with the code, and alot of 'show preview's. Feel free to try it out there, or copy it to your own user space and play with it. Welcome to Wikipedia. ॐ Priyanath talk 03:14, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

On what basis did you nominate the article as GA. It is no way close to a GA! It's been already assessed to be at Grade B. The article still has a "To-Do" list, please contribute to it and think about withdrawing your nomination, because the article still has a long way to go eZio 06:24, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Portal:Harry Potter/Did you know. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Andytalk 11:27, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Dear Andy,

I am currently helping improve the Harry Potter portal. I am not randomly deleting articles. I was archiving the Did you know section it was very messy. So i created this seeing examples of other portals:

  • Portal:Harry_Potter/DYK
  • Portal:Harry_Potter/DYK/Archive

If you see the history of the portal, you will see that I am creating proper subpages like featured character, Selected article, Did you know sections for ease of use and as recommended by Wikipedia.

If you see these links below you will know what I am trying to do.

  • Portal:Harry_Potter/Featured_Character
  • Portal:Harry_Potter/Featured_Character/Archive
  • Portal:Harry_Potter/Selected_article
  • Portal:Harry_Potter/Selected_article/Archive

In future, I request the recent changes patrollers to look into the history carefully before undeleting.Cheers,Vinwe 11:36, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Harry Potter template

I noticed your question on the help desk regarding the Harry Potter template. I created Portal:Harry Potter/seriesbox by using the preload feature to copy the code from Template:Harrypotter, and I'll probably be able to change the colours from there. Hope that helps, Nihiltres(t.c.s) 14:59, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Re:Thank You

Hi,

Contact me when you have addressed all the issues. I will suggest more improvements after that. Article development is a gradual process, and often takes a lot of time. There is no reason why this article can't become featured. Regarding the locater map, if you have trouble making a single map, go for multiples.
